Since the parts arrived the other day I felt the need to get on with the cleaning today. After spending about an hour on the gearbox with a wire brush, degreaser and some rags I have to learn to live with the fact that it won’t be as clean as I hoped. To get it any better I would have to use a lot of water and I just can’t do that in my garage.
I also attempted to remove the cross shaft bushings but the first one put up quite a fight. Until next time I will have to figure out a better plan of attack.
To feel that I had at least some success today I decided to fit my new pedal rubbers, it only took a few seconds for each rubber and should lessen the risk of slipping off the brake or clutch pedals.
